Hacer Yıldırım is a highly experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist (OT) specializing in autism, sensory integration, and developmental therapy. With over 15 years of experience in special education and occupational therapy, she has worked in leading autism clinics, special education schools, and NHS services across the UK and Turkey. She provides evidence-based interventions to support children and young people with autism, sensory processing challenges, and developmental differences, helping them build essential life skills and improve their daily functioning.

 

She completed her degree in Special Education at Marmara University in 2009, followed by a Master’s in Educational Management & Planning at Yıldız Technical University in 2012. After working as a special education teacher, administrator, and inspector within Turkey’s Ministry of National Education, she moved to the UK in 2014, where she held Deputy Manager positions in autism boarding schools before transitioning into occupational therapy. She earned a Pre-Reg Master’s in Occupational Therapy (with honors) from Oxford Brookes University in 2019, conducting her master’s thesis on "The Use of Deep Pressure Therapy Approach Among Children with Autism."

 

Hacer has worked extensively in pediatric occupational therapy, sensory integration therapy, deep pressure therapy, behavioral interventions, and early intervention strategies. She has provided therapy across multiple NHS departments and autism therapy clinics, including the Oxford Community Disability Team, Child Development and Assessment Team, Oxford Nuffield Orthopedic Centre, Stroke and Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Unit, Abingdon Community Emergency Response Unit, and Pediatric Community Occupational Therapy Services. Currently, she is pursuing a Sensory Integration Therapy Diploma (PGDip) at the University of Sheffield, while working part-time within the NHS and accepting clients through Clinic Autism.

She is a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT). Her additional certifications include Small Steps Education Program Family Training, Braille Alphabet Education, ISMEK Sign Language Training, Level 3-4-5 Certification in Sexual Education for Children (Oxford, UK), Positive Behavioral Coach Certification, Music Therapy for Sensory Integration, and Team Teach Training.
